Touristic InformationThe Tourism Secretary Office is located in the central hall at the bus station, in 1004 Julio Argentino Roca Street. Telephone number: 02902-491090/491466; E-mail. It's open from 8am to 10pm from October to March, and from 8.30am to 9pm from April to September. High and low seasonsHigh seasonIt starts in October, and ends in the Holy Week. During this season, daylight is longer, which allows you to enjoy excursions and time in the open air. If you're planning to visit us during this season, we recommend you to book your accommodation beforehand, as there is not as much room yet. You must also keep in mind that temperature average differs from day to night, so you will need cool clothes during the day, and warm during the night and for your trips to the glaciers. Low SeasonIt starts alter the Holy Week, until September. Days in this season are shorter and colder, but we still make our excursions to the glaciers. Days are generally sunnier and less windy, and during May, June and July you'll enjoy ice skating, if Redonda Bay freezes. Hiring of ice skates is available at the Club Andino. Although the number of tourists in this season is lower, it has increased considerably during the last years. On the other hand, many hotels, restaurants and other shops close for holidays or reforms. That's why we recommend you to book beforehand. Regional ProductsIf you want to take a souvenir home, or think about a gift for your loved ones, you must know that what makes us different from any other place are the products deriving from the fruit called "calafate": marmalade, liquor and alfajores made with this fruit are the most representative thing, but we'll always surprise you with new ideas. |
